It is wonderful to be able to thank all the membership for your support of the new association, IJKA UK, formed after our sad loss in 2020.
Kato Shihan would have wanted peace and unity after his passing as he wrote in his Kenshu Kun, and IJKA UK has done just that bringing us all together as one Winning without Fighting.
Progress so far has been down to a few individuals but unlike the famous WW2 quote from Winston Churchill we are owed nothing. Sensei gave us the tools and motivation to succeed and IJKA UK is the result.
We are a young association but hold a vast depth of knowledge gained from many years of dedicated study by our senior grades. This along with our unity, as one, has enabled us to bring IJKA UK to the fore with IJKA HQ.
Whilst the pandemic has stifled international travel, Takato Sensei has in the meantime started on-line training sessions. IJKA UK were picked to be first as a mark of respect to the fact that IJKA started here with our now senior grades.
IJKA UK is looking forward to 2022 and has already announced its first seminar in February.
Positive steps in our bright future and the first of many.
Our Chief Instructor Sensei Keith is looking forward to visiting all our dojos next year and spreading his vast knowledge to the membership.
The future is looking bright for IJKA UK and we look forward to supporting IJKA HQ in developing the International association.
We would like to take this opportunity to send festive good wishes to all the membership and their families.
In fond memory of Kato Shihan have a Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year.
Stay safe and well everyone, see you all in 2022.
Osu, IJKA UK
